This single vineyard Syrah is made from the oldest vines growing at the Wilderotter Vineyard in Amador County's Shenandoah Valley AVA. Here we employed artisan winemaking techniques including open-top fermentation, hand punch downs, and the use of whole cluster fruit. This elevage was slow and careful creating wine with expressive aromatics, dimension, richness, and length. The flavors suggest fresh berries, spices, smoked meats, and herbs.
